Turning a symphony of flavour into a symphony of sound.

EARNED

VALLEY OF THE BRAMBLES

Brief

After a striking brand relaunch with flamenco dancers and a Rankin film, The Glendronach wanted an earned idea that deepened the lore around the whisky and resonated with discerning drinkers.

Solution

The inspiration came from Master Blender Dr. Rachel Barrie’s description of the 12-year-old as a “symphony of flavour.”

Working with Emmy-nominated composer and cellist Rob Lewis, we created The Valley of the Brambles — an original composition built from the sounds of the distillery itself. From the crunch of gravel in the dunnage warehouses to hands brushing casks, every note was woven with Rob’s cello to create an anthemic piece of music.

The track was designed as “sonic seasoning,” amplifying the tasting experience through sound — a concept backed by Oxford University research. Its name honours the Gaelic meaning of Glendronach: Valley of the Brambles.

Released on Spotify and shared with press worldwide, it gave drinkers a new way to experience the whisky — not just as a flavour, but as a symphony.
